ROBIN PICKENS DESIGN BRINGS COLOR
AND VIBRANCE TO SURTEX ‘07
Los Angeles, CA … Robin Pickens will be showing her colorful lines for licensing at this years SURTEX show
at the Javitz Center in New York. Pickens believes in celebrating everyday life through her expression of color,
shape and imagery and brings this enthusiasm to her artwork for licensing.
At SURTEX, Pickens is showing her Robin’s Nest line of contemporary nature illustrations and designs. These
stylized pieces are often accompanied by messages that inspire, such as her flying bird with “soar for your
dreams”. From bookmarks and stationery sets to figurines, totebags and bookends, the Robin’s Nest line
celebrates nature, connection and inspiration through a variety of giftware product categories.
New this year and debuting at the show are Pickens’ lines for kitchens and cooking. In her attempt to find
artwork that would work in a modern kitchen, she found creating her own images worked best, bringing her
linear, contemporary style and sense of color to themes of vegetables, wine parties, appetizers and cooking
utensils. Loving to cook and entertain, Pickens finds creating artwork for culinary themes to be nourishing and
satisfying.
This year Pickens is also adding to her Christmas offerings. Her Contempo Christmas line is expanded to
include her festive holiday birds and colorful snowflakes. Appropriate for holidays, as well as year-round
inspiration, Pickens is showing her Angelic Inspiration line. Based on the style of illuminated manuscripts,
Robin has crafted angels that share messages of gratitude, love and protection.
This is Robin Pickens’ second year at SURTEX. She currently licenses with companies including Papyrus,
Design Design Inc, and Paper Products Designs. She has been an award-winning television graphics designer
for 20 years. She views her licensing work as a celebration of the connections with make with nature, family
and friends.
